    Location: Big Creek WRF, Fulton County, GA. Upgrade 200Hp & 35HP pumps operation with latest PLC & HMI in Influent Pump system without interrupting pump operation.


    The customer was facing several problems with the existing ATL system. These included failure due to very old system, maintenance cost was high, pump's motor drew high inrush current, pipe work damaged due to mechanical shock every operational cycle. Existing PLC & HMI were absolute from market. The Amtech Drives technical team first understood the severity of the process. The challenge was to control the pump with changes in incoming water flow and the water level of the well.


    Amtech accepted the challenges and provided an effective solution.Existing motor starters 200 Hp and 35 Hp of high service pump and low service pump of influent lift pump station were replaced with an Amtech Drives VFD Engineered System. Team had installed pump one by one and put in line without plant shutdown. We also upgraded power cables and conduits, PLC and HMI, and other instrumentation.


    Now the operation is smooth, reliable and efficient. Reduced motor's starting inrush current and minimized electrical and mechanical wear & tear. Avoided water hammering effect. Also Minimized the system down time
