Dynamic Voltage Compensator

Dynamic Voltage Compensators monitor and control voltage to sensitive equipment connected across the power grid. Often sensitive equipment such as induction motors industrial PCs, DCS etc. Malfunctions whenever there is a voltage sag or swell of 50% or more around its nominal value. This malfunctioning can lead to loss of productions waste of raw material and man-hours. Such voltage disturbances last for short periods often less than 10 to 15 cycles. In such cases a UPS becomes bulky and uneconomical solution. Servo stabilizers cannot give fast and sufficient correction. Other equipment such as transformers, tap changes, and line voltage conditioners do not have fast enough response and required power capacity. Hence under these conditions a Dynamic Voltage Compensator (DVC) is the only solution.

Applications :

The Amtech Multi-Functional Active Filter can compensate for reactive currents of fundamental
waves, harmonic currents, etc. As such, there are many applications if its functions are
adequately combined.

1 Semiconductor manufacturing plants.
1 Process computers.
1 Paper industries, wire-winding / unwinding processes, where motors run in
synchronously and a drop in voltage may disturb the process.
